I Will Tombstone Piledrive You if You Mention "Woke" or "DEI" Again
I came across the website the other day whose whole reason for existing it to "call out DEI" in video games. It can be something so innocuous as a woman on the cover art. There is a whole subreddit dedicated to the website and another that is practically its cousin that combine to well over a couple hundred thousand members. It is literally all white men bitching about seeing a minority in a game.
How fucking fragile do you have to be that you need some hall monitor to look at games for you to tell you that its safe for your fragile cracker eyes to view.
These same bottomless-pit-for-a-brain people claim that San Andreas was great, but I know damn well that if they were alive in the early 2000s they would have shit and pissed and cried over a black guy in the game, y'know like people ACTUALLY DID back then. Or thinking that "black on black crime bad" was the whole message of the game.
What's even hilarious is half of these people don't actually know who is part of the DEI philosophy. The moment I mention that veterans are DEI hires and have been for decades you can see them start to sputter, deflect, or disconnect. Its like watching a Ford Pinto have an aneurysm.
At this point, I'm convinced that when these dorks use DEI as an insult I'm convinced they're using it as a catchall slur. They don't say shit when a white man fucks up.
Look, the DEI "program" when it was in full swing wasn't very effective. People saw through the irony of being talked down at about white privilege by white consultants who didn't turn around and rip into the poster boys for white privilege on the executive level. It was like racism's D.A.R.E. campaign.
However, the reason it existed, and the main point of it were good. It is good to get disenfranchised groups a fighting chance. The main complaints people have about losing jobs are more of a problem with Capitalism than it is the black guy, but the anti-DEI chuds aren't ready for that conversation.
"Woke" is the same conversation. Bunch of mouth-breathers who can't stand to see gay people exist. Half the time they can't even create a definition for it, and when they do it makes being "woke" sound great. Being aware of the complex systemic issues holding people down.
These bone heads are scared of complex answers to complex questions. If you've ever had the misfortune of having a conversation with this lot, you'll have likely came across being told "I'm not reading all of that" or "quit writing novels and just answer the question". These same piss-for-brains, dunce cap-wearing halfwits will argue "this is just 3rd grade science" like its a good argument. I think it really shines light on how these people think, they need simple explanations designed for 3rd graders to comprehend.
I'm not new to this scene, and this general sentiment isn't new. Anti-Woke today was Anti-SJW 8 years ago. Before that it was criticism of "PC Culture". It's all stupid. I'm not saying their aren't INSUFFERABLE, condescending dickheads on my side of the political isle. The same people Socko in Bo Burnham's Inside caricatured aren't hard to find on Xitter (Shitter as I like to call it) and Reddit. But that doesn't mean they're inherently wrong or not bringing up valid criticisms of the system. They're just dicks is all.
I'm just so damn tired of this culture war BS, because it is literally nothing more than a red herring to distract people from the fact we are being robbed EVERY DAY by the dictatorship of the wealthy.
You know why you're not getting a job in X field? If you discover that a minority took your place, you SHOULDN'T be mad at the minority. You should be fuming at the rich bastard hiring people at a lower cost and overworking them, exploiting their situation.
The sooner we get these morons to ACTUALLY target the businesses hiring illegal immigrants rather than the immigrants, is the day we take a step in the right direction. I'm not too optimistic, seeing people who said "yeah we should target the businesses too!" and then were gung-ho about Trump using corporations to hold immigrants' livelihoods hostage for sponsorship.
I'm just tired.
