it's never too late to make core memories

I wrote a post for my gaming blog about core memories from video games. I realized that a lot of them are from within only a couple years. This got me thinking that maybe core memories aren't just childhood exclusive.

To me, core memories always seemed so distant in the past. A seemingly bygone era of times I'll never see again. I started to see this pattern as I wrote the post. That this feeling that I won't be making any new core memories was felt during points where I was actively making new core memories.

This made me realize that it's really never too late for the good ol' days. You can be nostalgic for something that happened less than 5 years ago. There really isn't a time cap for creating memories that you can remember so vividly and replay it in your head with a smile on your face.

I'm looking forward to the new memories I'll be making. Not just in games, but in my life as a whole. The beautiful part is I get to make these memories with my wife and daughter and help THEM create new core memories.

Maybe one day my little girl will grow up and look back on the time she spent making music and playing couch co-op with her dad.

as of writing this...

I've been wanting to play my vanilla Skyrim run on my xbox one to get all the achievements before fully committing to a longer, slower playthrough. Currently playing as my gay, wabbajack and ring-that-does-900-melee-damage that I named "FALCON PAWNCH" wielding Argonian vampire lord, Slaps-His-Nuts. It is my Halo 3 game night tonight though, so I probably won't be able to play much today. Last week's game night was kinda mid because none of my friends were on that night, so I mostly played with randoms. Hopefully this round will be better.
